Richard “Dick” A. Kimpel, 86, of Polo, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Richard was born, July 6, 1937, in Mt. Carroll, IL, the son of Richard J. and Ruth (Kramer) Kimpel. Dick retired from the Sterling Steel after over 30 years as a Pipefitter. He loved his family and his grandchildren. Dick enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, meeting his friends, solving the worlds problems and working in his yard.
Survivors include his long time companion of over 35 years Georgia VanUnnik; daughters Lisa (George) Landherr of Lanark, IL and Lori (Jerry) King of Leaf River, IL; sons Alan (Ruth) Kimpel of Abington, IL, Steve (Kristin) Kimpel of Polo, IL and Brian (Jean) Kimpel of Freeport, IL; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; granddaughter Jennifer Warren; sister Sharon Ruble.
He will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Dixon, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded.
