Roger Lee Saaijenga, 71, of Ocala passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017. He was from Dixon, Illinois and moved to this area in 2007.
Roger achieved the rank of Command Sergent Major in the US Army and retired after 26 years of service in 1988. After “retirement”, he managed a regional branch of a national security firm before becoming an independent security contractor for many international and domestic projects. Friends will remember Roger as gregarious and always ready with a story from his many adventures.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl (Sherry) Saaijenga; Ocala, FL, Marci Saaijenga-New (Daughter), Douglas Saaijenga (Son), Debrin Saaijenga (Daughter), & Madison New (Granddaughter).
