Ronald “Ron” E. Greenawalt, 83, of Polo, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Ron was born May 5, 1936, in Carroll County, the son of Percy and Evelyn (Pontnak) Greenawalt. On January 10, 1959 in Polo, he was united in marriage to his loving wife Joyce Hoffman. He in his early years farmed in the area and once married drove truck for Hoffman Trucking in Polo for over 27 years. Ron enjoyed spending time with family, attending sporting events of his grandchildren and bowling.
Survivors include wife Joyce Hoffman; daughters Dawn (Doug) Knapp of Polo and Kim Devine of Mississippi; sisters: Barb Greenawalt and Norma Reeter both of Sterling; grandchildren Erin (Anthony Chounard) Knapp, Dustin (Courtney) Knapp, Adam (Michelle) Devine, Alyssa (Dillion St Clair) Devine, Abbie Devine; great grandchildren Amya and Brayden Devine.
He was preceded in death by Parents and brother Donald.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 from 3:30 p.m. to start of service time at 4:00 p.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Dixon at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial has been established in his name.
