Samuel R. Heath

Samuel R. Heath, 61, of Polo, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023. The son of Robert & Shirley Eubanks Heath, Sam was born in Morrison on December 28, 1961.

Sam was a simple man who lived a big life. He was a native of Polo. He graduated from Polo Community High School class of 1980 and went on to be employed at Woods Equipment Company where he later retired. He was a proud girl dad to his two beautiful daughters- they were the center of his world. He loved the outdoors, Crapie fishing being his favorite, and claimed to hold the title of the #1 Heath fisherman. He enjoyed hunting , especially deer, pheasant, and moral mushrooms. Sam enjoyed spending time in his garden, growing vegetables, flowers, and as many pumpkins as he could. Sam enjoyed cooking, especially grilling on his charcoal grill and frying fish. He loved birdwatching, his favorite being the oriole, golden finches, and cardinals and watching every sunset in his back yard. He loved Rock and Roll and always played the best air guitar. He was a Minnisota Vikings fan for many years and a huge animal lover his entire life. He bought his dream car after he retired, a 57′ Chevy Bel Air, that he would drive his beloved grand-dog, Ellie Mae, around town in. He was a hardworking, honest man and great father. He had the biggest heart for his family, friends, and animals. His kindness shined brightly.

Sam is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Heath (Garett Melton), Madelyn Heath; parents, Robert & Shirley Heath; brothers, Randy Heath (Leslie), Rick Heath (Laura); sister, Kathy Baker (Dale); Nephews, Christopher Heath & Mick Heath (Stephanie), Joe Baker (Ramona); niece, Cindy Aurdini (Josh); and several great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A gathering of friends will be held at Polo Family Funeral Home on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

If others wonder why I’m missing, just tell them, I’ve gone fishin.
