Shellie Jo Shank, of Freeport (formerly of Polo), passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford.
Shellie was born June 15, 1963, in Dixon, the daughter of Melvin “Doc” and Lavon (Maxwell) Shank. She worked as a CNA for many years in the area. Shellie Jo enjoyed sitting by a campfire, fishing and spending time in the outdoors with her family and friends.
Survivors include sons Joshua (Alyssa) Shank of Milledgeville and Curtis Crehan of Phoenix, AZ; sisters Judy (Saul) Gonzalez Sr. of Sterling, Vicki (Rick) Spotts of Sterling, Christy (Steve Grobe) Bowlin of Polo, Lisa Shank of Polo; brothers Duane (Nancy) Mackey of Polo; granddaughters Hannah and Haisley; grandson Brogan; nieces Angie, Kayla, Jessica, Melissa, Tina; nephews Saul Jr, Jeremy, Jason; 4 great Nieces; 5 great Nephews; 3 great-great Nieces; 1 great-great nephew; special friend Deb; uncle Mike Bowlin; furry companions Shadow and Mr. Sunshine.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; brothers Larry Mackey Sr and Richard Maxwell; nephew Larry Mackey Jr; 4 great-nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
