M. Virginia Roberts, 92, of Polo, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. Virginia was born July 7, 1924, in rural Polo, the daughter of Floyd and Mary (Jones) Binkley. On November 30, 1946, in Lanark she was united in marriage to George W. Roberts (he preceded her in August 2002). Virginia graduated from Polo High School and was a lifelong member of the West Branch Church of the Brethren in Forreston. She enjoyed feeding the birds and tending to her flowers.
Survivors include daughters Cindy (Elmer) Stauffer of Polo; Linda (Rick Sarver) Powell of Dixon; son Larry (Joy) Roberts of Polo; sister-in-law Betty Stoner; grandchildren Melissa (Derick) Newton, Scott (Ellie) Roberts, Cory (Megan Rooney) Stauffer, Chad (Ali Clifft) Stauffer; great grandchildren Parker and Trevor Newton.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Kenny; sister Alice Miller; nephew Bob Binkley.
A private family service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon where she will be buried next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the West Branch Church of the Brethren in Forreston.
