Wayne H. Maavich, 64, of Polo, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at his home.
Wayne was born, June 29, 1955, in Rockford, the son of Sam and Rose Ann (Gibson) Maavich. On January 6, 1990 in Rockton, he was united in marriage to Ms. Beverly Green.
Wayne was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Navy after 21 years as an MMC-7. He enjoyed being crew-chief for Pines Racing in Polo with good friend Greg Wagner. He always looked forward to spending time with his dear family and friends.
Survivors include wife Beverly; step-mother Marilyn Peck; daughters Kirstyn (Cody Suter) Maavich, Misti (Ryan) DeWeerd; sons Kyle (Marisol Montoya) Maavich, Michael (Liana Campollo) Fogle, Kelly (Jessica) Campbell; sisters Lorie (Floydd) Voss, Stacie (Keith) Geiken, Melody (Tracy) Briggs, Wendy (Alvin) Shain, Stephanie Thomm; brothers Greg Peck, Steve (Diane) Maavich; grandchildren Raynah and Kadin Marks, Marcette and Matthias Jolly, Mae Mae and Rocky DeWeerd, Liam, Levi and Kelvin Campbell, Ana and Fernando Ortiz, Gabriel Maavich, Sofie, KJ, Coda and Jada Suter; great granddaughter Ivana Berg.
He was preceded in death by Parents and niece Savanha Meyers.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. this Saturday at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St, until start of service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place immediately following the service with Military Honors at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be directed in his name.
