Polo – Wilma J. Wolfley, 83, of Polo, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, at her home with family by her side. She was a Housekeeper for 27 years in the Polo area.
Wilma was born March 16, 1932, in Wethersfield Township, Illinois, the daughter of Fred E. and Orie (Weber) Smith. On July 30, 1949 in Mt. Carroll she was united in marriage to Robert Wolfley. (he preceded her on April 29, 2014)
Survivors include her daughters Joyce (James) Mumford of Windsor, IL and Rita J. (Fred) Buser of Byron; sons Robert (Ingrid) Wolfley of Sterling and David Wolfley of Polo; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; sisters Alma (Donald) Wiltfang of Polo, Betty (Jim) Allen of Sheridan, IL, Dolly (Marvin) Hougas of Shabbona, IL, Mary Johnson of Morrison; sister-in-laws Wendy Smith of Kewannee, Jackie Smith of Savanna, Thelma Smith of Galesburg; brothers Van (Connie) Smith of Freeport, Jim (Darlene) Smith of Savanna, Richard Smith of Perry, IA.
She was preceded in death by brothers Bob, Fred, Arnold, Pat, Dale Smith, sister Janice Davis, granddaughter Kelly Wolfley Timm.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Discovery Church, 801 W. Oregon St, Polo, services will follow at 11:00. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Faith Discovery Church and Serenity Hospice.
